The Rudder

When I was young, in a Christian Brother School, learning about Christianity, I was impressed with the Beatitudes, Mt 5:3-11.

The reason is simply that we can learned them by heart, and they can be your guiding light. And the other truth is able to pass the subject "Bible Knowledge"

After finishing school, all are forgotten!!

As we go through life, I have become a new born Christian, and am still in the shipping industry. The passage on the rudder will always strike note on me, because James wrote in Chapter 3: 4-9, "Or take ships, as an example. Although they are so large, and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go................

I always believe that it is the tongue, even though it is small, it can steer us into trouble or happiness. Out of it, we can come praising or cursing.

So when we are together, we must tame our tongues!!
